Tepper Tech Innovation Challenge

The Tepper Tech Innovation Challenge is a case competition for MBA students dedicated to applying business techniques to products in emerging technologies. Our goal is to create a community of forward-thinking students from the best technology-focused business schools in the nation. Hosted by Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business and the Business and Technology Club, the 2023 edition will focus on Product Management.

The Tepper Tech Innovation Challenge is a case competition for MBA students dedicated to applying business techniques to products in emerging technologies. Our goal is to create a community of forward-thinking students from the best technology-focused business schools in the nation.
Hosted by Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business and the Business and Technology Club, the 2023 edition will focus on Product Management.
Dates:
Kick-off Event:
Our kick-off event is scheduled for September 22, 2023. A recording of this meeting will be made available for interested students to view.
Qualifying Round:
Dates: Sep 22 - Oct 4, 2023
Location: Virtual
Submission Deadline: Wednesday, October 4th, 11:59 PM ET
Registered teams will be provided the qualification prompt at 4:00 PM ET on Friday, September 22nd then have until the deadline to submit a white paper responding to the prompt.
The judging committee, consisting of Tepper School of Business faculty and sponsor judges, will decide the best papers. Selected paper authors will be asked to participate in the Final Round. Qualifying Round results will be determined by mid-October.
Final Round:
Dates: November 4th, 2023
Location: Tepper School of Business, Pittsburgh PA
Winning teams from the qualifying round (8) will compete in the final round at the Tepper School of Business. This two-day event will culminate in a final presentation to a board of judges from sponsor companies and university faculty.
Teams are responsible for transfers to and from Pittsburgh and stay in Pittsburgh.
Winners will be determined and awarded on November 4th.
Eligibility Requirements:
This competition is only open to 1st year MBA or graduate students seeking internship opportunities for Summer 2024.
