H1B Sponsorship and the Popular Functional Areas (SOC*)

In our second H1B Sponsorship 2018 Business Profile Report, we have explored all the 541,555 H1B Sponsorships data, and filtered it down to only keep business profiles information. Within our International Section, you can search and filter 46,922 H1B Sponsorships for business profiles, filter by state, functional area, job title, and employer name.

This article focuses on the H1B Sponsorship Popular Functional Areas.

The following top 5 popular functional areas account for more than 50% of all filed applications.
1: Management Analysts (10,216 applications).
2: Financial Analsyst (8,241 applications).
3: Accountants and Auditors (7,127 applications).
4: Market Research Analysts and Marketing Specialists (3,970 applications).
5: Financial Specialists, All Other (2,561 applications).

Among the top 5 areas, all of the top locations include California, New York, and Texas; except for Financial Specialists, All Other, the top locations for this are New York, California, and Illinois.

In the majority of the top job titles for the top 5 areas, the average salaries are located in the $50K - $100K range, except for the Financial Analysts. For this area, 2 out of the 10 are located in the $100K - $150K range: Vice President ($136K), and Research Analyst ($106K).

For all 5 popular functional areas, majority of the top employers are either in the Consulting or the Financial Services industry, besides the Market Research Analysts and Marketing Specialists area, where the majority of the employers are in the Technological industry.
