Role Purpose:

To support the anticipated growth in our business and to ensure a sufficient pipeline of leadership talent Syngenta has developed the Finance Management Program. As a participant in our Finance Management Program you will spend three years in a dynamic and challenging work environment. Rotating across a number of finance roles in different parts of our business you will benefit from insights and experience. In general, assignments range from 12 -18 months in length. Participants may experience learning first-hand about decision support, seeing how a multinational treasury operates successfully, be part of our Group Reporting team that has to understand and communicate our financial performance, or experience some mergers and acquisitions work. These types of assignments will allow participants to gain the level of experience necessary to progress on an accelerated leadership track within Syngenta North American Finance. Rotations may include but are not limited to the following Syngenta location sites, Greensboro, NC, Raleigh, NC, Minnetonka, Minnesota, Wilmington, Delaware and Basel, Switzerland. Interviews for this position will be taking place in October 2012 in Greensboro, NC.


• Provide financial analysis and support to management of a business or other members of the finance team
• Support business decision making by the provision of robust, timely financial information that is communicated in a clear manner
• Prepare the financial case for investment proposals for review and approval by the relevant decision making body as a member of a cross functional team
• Assist management in the development of budgets, latest estimates and forecasts
• Support short, medium and long term financial planning and monitoring
• Facilitate the effective and efficient delivery of business goals with sound financial analysis and advice
• Coordinate month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, allocations, producing associated analysis, and adhering to Corporate timelines
• Deliver high quality set of accounting data to facilitate group, statutory and tax reporting
• Protect Syngenta assets in country and represent Syngenta towards external auditors
• Manage group reporting and coordinate compliance processes in country
• Coordinate Finance services with outside service provider

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
• A Bachelors or Masters in Finance or Accounting preferred
• Aspiring CPA and/or other professional accounting designation preferred
• Budgeting, forecasting and planning
• Understanding, interpreting and sharing financial results

• Exposure to multination companies and processes a plus
