About Business Perspectives Program

The Business Perspectives program is designed to provide a deep immersion in our two divisions, Roche Pharmaceuticals and Roche Diagnostics. It is targeted at talented individuals who relish challenges, aim for leadership positions and are seeking to make significant contributions to our industry and patients. This is a unique opportunity to further grow your skills and knowledge needed for future leadership roles. Totally customizable to your career interests the Business Perspectives program is completely flexible, allowing you to chart the course for your time in the program and beyond.

Business Perspectives include:
  • 2 year program with 3-4 international job rotations of 6-12 months in different business areas. For example Global Product Strategy (GPS), Sales, Marketing, Business Analytics, Market Access/Strategic Pricing, Business Development- at a global, regional or affiliate (local) level
  • Diverse experience: you will be exposed to different areas of the business, functions, countries, sites, markets, leadership styles and culture
  • Broad personal support: Senior Leader Mentor, Program Manager, Rotation Manager/Sponsor, Program Buddy and Alumni
  • Annual Training: continuing to build your leadership skills, capabilities and expand your network.
Requirements:
We are looking for enterprising and globally mobile future business leaders from around the globe. To be a successful candidate you have at least a graduate degree (in business or science) and 3-5 years' commercial experience ideally in the healthcare industry. Fluency in two languages, one of which must be English is required; and so is your mobility during the 2 year Program and ideally afterwards. You are/have:
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Commercial knowledge and ambition to progress further in this area
  • Self-starter who is innovative and has a growth mindset
  • Willingness to work according to our values: Integrity, Courage and Passion

About the speaker
Susan Matsushima is passionate about development! With almost 20 years in industry, 10 years at Roche, and 5 years running development programs, she's knows what's important when developing others.

Susan has a BS in Chemical Engineering and a MS in Engineering Management. After 15 years in technical, quality, and production supervisor roles, she followed her passion to people development. She leads Business Perspectives, Roche's flagship 2-year rotational development program at Roche, designed to provide a 'rapid fire' induction experience within Roche Pharmaceuticals or Diagnostics.

SooMin Lee is currently on his third rotation as an International Product Manager for a cancer immunotherapy product based out of the Roche Headquarters in Basel, Switzerland, working on promotional messaging and customer strategies. He finished his first and second rotations as a field sales representative for a haematology product based out of Melbourne, Australia. He joined the Business Perspectives program from the Duke MBA program in the US through the Genentech Commercial Internship in the US Pricing and Contracting organisation. SooMin has a BS/MS in Biomedical engineering and has experience at GE Healthcare and BioMarin.
He is from Suwon, Korea, the hometown for Korean BBQ - Galbi. He enjoys exploring Michelin starred restaurants and weightlifting. He is joining the webinar today to offer a current program perspective in the program.
