Who we are

BAT Russia is part of a global tobacco group, with brands sold in more than 200 markets.

In 2013 our group sold 676 billion cigarettes, made in 46 factories in 41 countries. We employ more than 57,000 people in more than 200 markets worldwide, with many more indirectly employed through our supply chain.

BAT Russia is one of the leaders in the Russian tobacco market with a volume share of 21.2% and a value share of 21.9%. Its geography of direct store delivery covers over 670 Russian cities. BAT Russia employs some 3 000 people. The Company owns two factories: BAT-SPb in St. Petersburg and BAT-STF in Saratov. In 2013, BAT Russia factories manufactured over 73.9 billion cigarettes.

British American Tobacco opened its first representative office in Russia in 1991. In 1994, it started its operations in Russia. By the middle of 2012, British American Tobacco's investments into the Russian economy exceeded $1 billion.

British American Tobacco Russia takes a responsible approach in all areas of its activity. In 2001, BAT Russia was the first in the Russian market to embark on the process of social reporting in accordance with international standards. Since then the social reporting process has been standard business practice for BAT Russia.
