Who are the H1B sponsors in the USA? Where are the sponsored jobs, for what roles? This is what we explored in our H1B Sponsorship 2017 Business Profiles Report. Within our International Section, you can search and filter 52,089 H1B sponsorships for business profiles, filter by state, functional area, job title, and employer name.
This article focuses on the H1B Sponsorship Popular Functional Areas.
The following top 5 popular functional areas account for 60% of all filed applications.
1: Management Analysts with 9,681 filed applications.
2: Financial Analysts (7,598 applications).
3: Accountants and Auditors (5,956 filed applications).
4: Computer and Information Systems Managers (5,369 filed applications).
5: Market Research Analysts and Marketing Specialists (2,998 filed applications).
If we look at the top 10 popular functional areas, they account for more than 70% of all filed applications.
6: Marketing Managers with 2,168 filed applications.
7: Sales Engineers (1,972 filed applications).
8: General and Operations Managers (1,423 filed applications).
9: Financial Managers (1,411 filed applications).
10: Financial Specialists, all Other (1,327 filed applications).
Among the top 5 areas, all of the top locations include California, New York, and Texas; except for Computer and Information Systems Managers, the top locations for this area are California, New York, and Washington. Globally, the number of applications for California stands out compared to other states.
In the majority of the top job titles for the top 5 areas, the average salaries are located in the $50K - $100K range, except for the Computer and Information Systems Manager. For this area, out of the top 10 job titles, 7 are located in the $100K - $150K range, and the Engineering Manager area stands out with an average salary of $155K per year. All the others are in the $50K - $100K per year range.
For all 5 popular functional areas, majority of the top employers are either in the Consulting or the Financial Services industry, besides the Market Research Analysts and Marketing Specialists, where the majority of the employers are in the Technological industry.
