The BCG Canada Consulting Services Director serves as a lead business manager for Canada’s three offices and sits at the nexus of our consulting people and commercial agendas. Through leadership of our end-to-end talent functions, the Director is responsible for building, developing and deploying a best in class consulting team to meet the business needs of BCG’s Canadian practice, while ensuring that each consulting staff member has a world class development experience. In this role, the Director will work as a part of the NAMR team, in concert with the regionally driven agenda, policies, processes and leadership.
Within the NAMR context, and together with the System Lead, Office Leads, and the Canada Business Management Senior Director, the Director manages the full employment life cycle of each member of the non-MDP consulting team. These activities include hiring, integration, project deployment, professional development (career development, career path, L&D, PTO etc.), affiliation/retention/wellness programs (including D&I), career advisory, and other programs related to the career, development, and holistic experience of the Consulting Team. Additionally, the Director conducts and draws insights from people analytics, sets the long-range growth plan for our team, developing an integrated commercial and people plan, and manages capacity, pyramid and its evolution in the near term. In addition to functional responsibilities, the Director is a key thought partner to the System and Office Leaders, providing support in running the Canadian business. This includes filling key leadership roles, agenda setting for leadership meetings, preparation of executive materials, and generating insights and opportunities related to Canada’s business, for discussion with regional leaders. As a member of the North America Business Leadership team (NABLT), the Director will work closely with a wide range of constituents to pilot new programs, drive regional change efforts, and coordinate initiatives.
The individual will report directly to the Canada System Lead and Canada Business Management Senior Director and will directly oversee key functional leaders including the leader of Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Career Development, and Business Analytics, with many other informal management relationships.

1. Set and steward the overall Consulting people agenda for BCG CanadaAuthor and socialize a Consulting Team people agenda, that marries both the people and commercial needs of the business
Foster an end-to-end approach, with synergies and consistency across each element of the end-to-end people agenda, decisions, and programing
Conduct ongoing strategic people analysis, and identify and lead key strategic initiatives and interventions to continuously improve the experience
Lead the BCG Canada people team, setting agendas, drawing out key insights, and galvanizing support for key priorities
Act as the overall leader for the Consulting Experience BST team, as well as the line manager for leaders of consulting functions in Canada
2. Oversee Talent Acquisition strategy and operations for Canada Align on key elements of recruiting strategy, including target pools, key messages, and conversion levers
Set recruiting goals for full time and summer program, to align with pyramid, commercial strategy, and regional guidance
Manage lateral hiring programs to attract experienced talent to meet business needs
Finalize key documents and policies for Canada, including offer letters
Act as port of call for offeree questions
3. Lead professional development of consulting staff in CanadaSet the development aspiration for Canada’s consulting team
Lead the Career Development committees, together with Committee Chairs, setting and administering policy, processes, and outcomes for consulting staff, aligning with principles of meritocracy, equity, inclusion, transparency, and development.
Design and oversee key initiatives and programs, including mentorship and development programs (external and internal secondments, sponsorship, BCG immersion programs, and mobility)
Ensure the delivery of the appropriate learning programs and opportunities, with regional centre of excellence
Establish a trusted advisor relationship with professionals at all levels of the organization, and offering confidential counsel, as is helpful
Lead career transition program, ensuring a supportive, transparent, and equitable, approach
4. Manage Talent Management & deployment process for CanadaSet and manage end-to-end staffing guidelines for Canada, and align with key leaders, region
Manage overall commercial pipeline, billability and revenue
Foster a holistic approach to Talent Management which is steeped with care, empathy, support, and transparency, balanced with the needs of the business
Develop cohort strategies, ensuring fit-for-purpose approach to integration, affiliation and development
Provide broader insight to the System lead and other leadership on the state of the business and evolving trends through the lens of staffing

5. Lead consulting staff compensation for CanadaMonitor competitive environment re compensation
Help set/adjust compensation levels, aligning with key stakeholders
Manage the year end compensation process, including performance bonus setting & overall communications
6. Manage pyramid & capacity plans for Canada, in concert with commercial aspirationsDetermine long term capacity needs to fulfill commercial aspirations, and highlight key risks in pyramid evolution forecast
Develop mitigation strategies and plan to manage pyramid health across key levers and ensuring integration across key levers/functions (e.g. recruiting, CD, etc)
Work alongside Finance on regional submissions and management reporting
7. Provide support and counsel to System and Office Leads in Canada’s 3 officesLead and participate in management initiatives for the office and support SL/OLs on matters related to the management of the Consulting Team/Revenue Management
Develop agendas for and participate in all staff, cohort, and management meetings
Partner with SL in developing annual strategic and commercial plans.
Provide leadership and management for other office-wide initiatives as required
