Overview
The Renewable Energy Case Competition (RECC) is an annual traditional-style case competition hosted by the Energy Club at Ross, part of the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business, held during Ross Energy Week.
Who Can Participate
- Graduate student teams from top business schools nationally and internationally
- Team composition has historically required four to five graduate students, with at least one MBA student per team, given the case's financial and technical complexity
Format
- Teams analyze a case addressing a significant challenge in the renewable energy industry (past topics have included long duration energy storage, chemical emissions reductions, and clean energy financing)
- The competition typically proceeds through a submission round, a semi-final round, and a live final presentation round judged by industry professionals
- Finals are held in person at the Ross School of Business in Ann Arbor, Michigan, as part of Ross Energy Week, alongside the Energy Conference
