Rotman Design Challenge

The Rotman Design Challenge (RDC) is a live event at the Rotman School of Management that brings together top talent from leading MBA and design schools across the globe to propose solutions to a complex business challenge posed by an innovative and forward-thinking sponsor. This is not just another case competition, the RDC is a unique event that allows students to put design theories into practice in a collaborative environment where they are supported by academics, professionals, and consultants from the fields of business and design. Using creative problem solving techniques and frameworks from both the business and design disciplines, over 125 students will have the opportunity to share their experiences and to compete for top prizes.

Description
2023 marks the twelfth anniversary of RDC. This year we have Sun Life Financial as our sponsor. Sun Life Financial is a premier Canadian financial services company with over CAD$1.3 trillion in assets under management operating in a number of countries, including Canada, the United States, the UK and Hong Kong.

The firm provides financial planning, life insurance, health insurance, investments services (to name a few) to over 13 million customers worldwide.

Application Round
Each team must comprise of 4 – 6 members and need to submit a video application and a resume book by filling the application form

The video should be max 3 minutes, answering the following:

Tell us about your team

Share a unique or fun fact about your team

How would SMBC Aviation Capital benefit with the application of business design. Why and in what ways?


Application Guidelines

A completed application includes:

Contact info for your 4-6 team members

Resumes for a resume book to be compiled for Canadian Tire

A 3-minute video submission that 1) Tells us about your team, 2) Tells us a unique/fun fact about your team, and 3) Tells us how you believe Canadian Tire might benefit with the application of Business Design (complete instructions in the application form)
