Tepper Cleantech Case Competition (TC3)
Objective
The Tepper Cleantech Case Competition (TC3) challenges MBA and graduate student teams to develop and pitch data-driven investment strategies and business solutions that address real-world energy and cleantech challenges.
Description
Overview
- TC3 is hosted by the Tepper Energy & CleanTech Club (ECTC) at Carnegie Mellon University's Tepper School of Business, traditionally held as part of CMU Energy Week's Student Day.
- Teams act as consultants, developing and pitching investment strategies or business solutions on cleantech and energy topics to a panel of academic and industry judges.
Eligibility & Format
- The competition is structured for MBA students, though teams are only required to have one current MBA student, and participation from non-US business programs is welcomed.
- Teams have historically consisted of three to five individuals responding to a case prompt.
- Format has included a written submission phase followed by live finalist presentations and Q&A judged by industry professionals and academics.
Notable Details
- Past editions have partnered with organizations such as BCI Technology Investments and Emerson Ventures on real-world investment case prompts.
- The event convenes grad students, academics, and industry professionals across multiple segments of the cleantech landscape.
