The Applied Partners for Chronic Conditions team is looking for an innovative business analyst to help us in our mission to provide personalized, actionable data driven insights for customers with chronic conditions, working with cross-functional partners to streamline accessible and affordable care.

The Business Analytics Senior Advisor will play an active part of a dynamic team that utilizes advanced analytics to develop and assess chronic disease products. This individual will be a subject matter expert who can identify opportunities for providing chronic condition customers better care, develop and validate predictive models for new products, offer actionable insights for prioritizing clinical opportunities on a customer and client basis, and evaluating performance of existing products. This position will work closely stakeholders and cross-functional partners across the enterprise, providing insights from analyses to answer business questions about chronic diseases such as What is the clinical profile of a customer segment? How can we reach customers to facilitate care? How can we make their health journey simpler and more affordable?

This position is with Evernorth, a new business within the Cigna Corporation.

Role Summary:

The ideal candidate has strong statistical and analytical skills, previous experience in the healthcare industry, has worked with big data, can effectively communicate data insights and recommendations to business stakeholders in non-technical language. They can take a leading role, guiding data scientists and business analysts focused on a project, guiding the work, while managing professional relationships with multiple stakeholders.

The responsibilities are as follows:
* Engage with stakeholders to assess business needs and understand how analytics affects the broader business, bridging the gap between data insights and business goals with regular and clear communication
* Understand how best to utilize statistics, data analytics, and predictive modeling to develop actionable solutions as part of a cross-functional team
* Guide and collaborate with data scientists, business analysts, and engineers to design, launch, monitor new products, evaluate pilots, and evaluate efficacy of various chronic disease programs
* Develop clinically-appropriate analytic solutions that create personalized and actionable insights, prioritizing specific interventions for customers based on their unique needs
* Work collaboratively with other Digital and Analytics teams and cross-functional partners within Consumer Health Engagement (CHE), Data Analytics & Engineering, Operations, Product, and Information Technology to develop, execute, and maintain analytic products in a changing healthcare environment
* Querying healthcare data (claims, clinical, pharmacy, externally sourced) across a variety of big data (Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Pig, and Scala), other database platforms (Teradata, SQL databases), and cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and GCP
* Explore and visualize the data using tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, Tableau, Looker, etc.
* Provide written and verbal insights to stakeholders focusing on value added of recommended data driven insights

Please note- you must have analytic experience in healthcare data, including analysis of clinical data to be considered for this role. Project work on Diabetes, Musculoskeletal, Oncology, and/or Cardiac conditions highly beneficial, as is experience with analyzing claims data. Proven results stemming from working within teams with diverse expertise important.
* Advanced degree highly preferred in Statistics, Biostatistics, Econometrics, Economics, Epidemiology, Public Health, Actuarial Science, or clinical discipline (e.g. Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, Medicine, Psychology, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, etc.) or equivalent work experience and at least 6+ years of experience in applied analytics
* Knowledge of advanced statistical methods used for predictive and clinical modeling, and demonstrated aptitude of applying appropriate methods to answer a business or research question
* Previous work experience blending creativity with analytical, technical, and business acumen to problem solve
* Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills to a variety of audiences
* Minimum 3 years of hands-on advanced programming experience working with statistical programs (e.g. Python, SAS, R, and SQL) required
* Experience of 3+ years or more experience with clinical and claims data (e.g., Medical claims, Rx claims, EMR) preferred
* Proven ability to collaborate with others, establish working relationships, and communicate effectively within a large corporate matrix environment; Agile experience a plus
* Self-motivated, comfort with ambiguity, and flexible

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of xxx,xxx - xxx,xx0 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
