Position Summary

Position is responsible for leading a team and supporting strategic initiatives and change management efforts within the EMEA Strategic Insights & Data Analytics capabilities team, in support of the Medical Device Sector. Position will lead and direct the Strategic Insights and Analytics Function, directly supporting the EMEA Region for the Surgery, Orthopedics and Cardiovascular and Specialty Solutions Commercial Businesses, which covers over 100 countries including both developed and emerging markets as well as public and private healthcare systems.
Responsibilities will include defining and executing the roadmap to transform EMEA capabilities from basic level to advanced, agile analytics that foster a data-driven commercial organization. Expected outcomes include accelerating the regionís capabilities to leverage predictive analytics, insights, and customer and patient data to drive decision making, improve business planning, and uncover new growth opportunities for the business. In addition, this position will contribute to shaping the global master data and analytics strategy, shifting the broader organization towards leveraging data science, AI and precision-marketing analytics to enable JJMD meet the goal of delivering personalized solutions for patients and customers in support of the companyís digital surgery strategy.
Position will serve as key EMEA lead for the Global Business Insights (GBI) Center of Excellence and will engage directly with senior-level members of the EMEA Regional Leadership Team (RLT), comprised of the Company Group Chair, Vice Presidents and Managing Directors across various franchises, countries and functions for the $5 billion EMEA Medical Device business.
Role will require a high degree of business acumen and understanding and must be able to activate a team to support for learning and insight needs across the EMEA business. Will also require an individual who is strong in collaboration, influencing and interdependent partnering. Other key stakeholders include Global Franchises, Commercial Excellence, Strategic Accounts, Digital Excellence, Services & Solution, and Finance organizations. Position will have responsibility for prioritizing all the projects and activities required to drive successful growth of the EMEA Region.
Role will serve on both the Global Business Insights and EMEA Strategic Capabilities leadership teams.
The Medical Device EMEA business is an important segment within the Medical Devices business and is expected to experience solid growth over the next 5 to 7 years. The Sector is comprised of Surgery, Orthopedics and Cardiovascular and Specialty Solutions.

Required Duties and Responsibilities

As part of the GBI Leadership Team, provide a clear vision, mission, scope, and process for the GBI organization
Translation of GBI mission and capabilities to the EMEA Commercial team. Specific responsibilities include direct and indirect reports working across primary and secondary market research, forecasting, competitive intelligence and sales analytics. Additionally, this leader must partner with other key analytics functions across the organization (and their respective data sources) to provide a state of the business across multiple platforms.
Role will work to partner with the Global Business Franchise Insights Teams to ensure that Global strategy is being followed/integrated into sales and marketing efforts.
Position will lead development of recommendations for Go-to-Market (GTM) models in G5 and other priority countries, assessing and identifying opportunities to enable accelerated sales and share growth across franchises and platforms by optimizing commercial organizational design.
Team will lead Share of Voice (SOV) analysis for G5 and other priority countries, conducting external benchmarking and identifying opportunities to optimize sales force resources, taking into account direct, distributor and hybrid commercial models across public and private healthcare systems.
EMEA leader will develop and implement the plan to accelerate capabilities in the EMEA region to become a data-driven, agile commercial organization leveraging advanced analytics. This will include partnering with relevant functions across the region to pursue One Source of Truth across multiple data sources, enhancing skills within the franchises and country teams, and mapping out future growth opportunities.

Lead Insight Team in
Flawless execution of all projects and activities required to drive success of the business and commercial pipeline transition
Proactively providing fact-based insights and analytics programs to address strategic business needs including market and share reporting
Developing and implementing new innovative insights and business analytics tools and techniques and processes
Managing through others to acquire data or insights across the business to provide a succinct overview for key leaders
Serve as key strategic partner to EMEA Commercial leadership (Marketing is key partner)
Ensure that new products and programs are customer-centric and set up for high impact
Serve as objective steward of the Business
Lead education and dissemination of integrated knowledge estate and market information for key business partners/leaders
Active participation and engagement on Global Business Insights Leadership and EMEA Strategic Capabilities teams
Leverage experiences to integrate novel/innovative methods for the business as it relates to the development and execution of strategic insights.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience

BS or BA in business, marketing, statistics, mathematics, or related field. MBA or MS is preferred
A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in strategic insights, market research, business analytics, forecasting, finance or a related field is required Experience with agile methodology, advanced analytics and data science required.
Consumer/patient marketing and digital and precision marketing analytics experience preferred.
Experience in the medical device, hospital specialty, or healthcare field is preferred, but not required
Minimum 5-year experience with managing people
Ability to positively inspire and motivate a team
Proven track record of managing in a matrixed environment where a high degree of collaboration and influence is needed
5 years experience with managing people (larger team management experience preferred)

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Excellent proven leadership, collaboration, communication and analytical skills are required.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams, sometimes requiring managing and leading without authority as needed (strong influencing skills)
Ability to understand, translate and integrate multiple data sources into actionable insights to drive decision-making is required.
Working knowledge of industry primary market research tools and techniques, secondary data (Market and Share), competitive intelligence data, and forecasting is required.
Ability to work in a dynamic environment

Recent experience in innovating customer insights (market Research) and business analytics
Demonstrated success in creative problem solving and team partnership is required.
Excellent verbal and written presentation skills are required.

Proficiency in Microsoft WORD, EXCEL, and PowerPoint, and basic knowledge of analytical tools (eg SPSS or SAS) and data visualization tools (eg Tableau) is required.
