Job Purpose:

The Strategic Procurement Manager is responsible for the championing of the Primes Value Leadership Program for Mars Wrigley North America responsible for delivering in excess of 4% annually. This role will lead the benchmarking, design, and implementation of a best in class Value Leadership program. The role will be responsible for partnering with cross functional stakeholders and suppliers to build a robust 3 year Value Leadership pipeline, influence/optimize time leading decision making, and streamline delivery/execution of savings projects. This role will leverage procurement expertise, supply chain excellence, Strong Analytical skills, and leadership competencies including Influencing others, Command Skills, Negotiations, Leading change.

Key Responsibilities:
Utilizes strategic sourcing methodology and supply chain optimization tools to develop and optimize the Value Leadership program.
Collaborate with other Mars segments, NA Commercial Leadership Team, and Global Commercial Leadership on synergies and Best practice to drive optimal design and capability to the Value Leadership program
Responsible for Partnering with Sourcing Managers, Commercial Ops, R&D, Marketing and other Stakeholders to build Robust 3 Year Value Leadership pipeline.
Facilitate and Lead Idea Generation forums and Executional Project reviews with Internal Stakeholders and Suppliers
Proactively works with suppliers to ensure the delivery of continuous improvement opportunities, new technologies, and Design to Value Cost Benchmarking driving MW competitive advantage and future program pipeline
Serves as the primary point of contact for Value leadership program across the region with: Quality, Innovation, Packaging, Productivity, Coman/Copacker Team, Operations Business Team, Finance, Product Dev. and Procurement Operational Team.
Analyze Spend and Value Leadership program data to identify key insights, drive new opportunities, and present program status to Senior Leadership
Partner with Digital IT, S&OP Management, Finance, and other Stakeholders to Streamline program Reporting, Pipeline management, Idea generation, and Execution capabilities.
Lead Cross functional sessions to routinely reassess program and incorporate continuous improvement including program efficiency, executional urgency, pipeline generation, and associate engagement
Influence Senior Leadership for program support including Project resourcing support, driving calculated decisions, and prioritization of trials in MW sites.
Lead Tracking and Resource prioritization of both Value Leadership and Security of Supply initiatives.

Context and Scope:

Utilizes procurement, supply chain knowledge, strong analytical and change management skills to work through others to optimize/enhance the value leadership program. Creates & implements strategy to deliver robust value leadership pipeline and partner with cross functional stakeholders to deliver against value leadership targets.

Job Specifications/Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, engineering, supply chain or related discipline
CPM, MS or MBA preferred
Minimum of five years’ experience in Services, Goods Sourcing or other procurement/supply related experience.
Knowledge of P&L, Financial, and YOY cost savings metrics
Experience leading working sessions with groups of associates to solve for an issue or build a project pipeline
Progressive experience utilizing strategic sourcing or lean methodologies
Experience driving change including leading others to introduce new procedures or implement new capabilities
Strong analytical and presentation skills: ability to analyze big data to identify and present insights to senior leaders
Experience partnering with Cross functional Stakeholders to drive initiatives (Cost Savings Experience preferred)
Strong project management skills in support of cross functional team activities
Strong interpersonal skills
Experience with implementation of IT solutions is preferred
Excellent PC skills: MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), SAP, Outlook (Exceptional Excel and PPT required)
Proven communication skills, verbal and written
