The impact of climate change wields a greater influence over business operations and investments now more than ever. RCIC aims to provide a unique platform for students to explore the technical challenges that corporations face in reducing emissions and develop innovative decarbonization strategies, all while considering the associated business implications.

Description
Now in its third year, MBA students are invited to form teams of 4-5 students. Participants will engage in a business-focused case competition centered around decarbonization, offering significant prize opportunities.

The impact of climate change wields a greater influence over business operations and investments now more than ever. RCIC aims to provide a unique platform for students to explore the technical challenges that corporations face in reducing emissions and develop innovative decarbonization strategies, all while considering the associated business implications. The competition presents an exceptional opportunity for students to apply and demonstrate critical thinking skills, analytical problem-solving abilities, and business acumen. Industry professionals play a key role in assessing and evaluating presentations, and they also provide participants with valuable networking opportunities.


Eligibility: Open to all students who are currently enrolled in an accredited graduate college/university degree program at the time of the competition. A team of 4-5 members must consist of a minimum of 3 MBA students.

The RCIC will have 2 rounds:

Round 1
Students will submit virtually for judges to review without any verbal presentation. The top 5 scores will move to Round 2.

Round 2
Finalists are cordially invited to the Rice University campus to compete in person (25-minute presentation, 15-minute Q&A).
